Privacy Policy

What we collect when you use this website, why, and what happens to it.

Who we are

The Print Shop Tunstall, 72 Roundwell Street, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, UK. Telephone 01782 822579, email theprintshop@live.co.uk. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and why

  • When you send an enquiry or place an order — your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and what you asked for. We need this to price the job, do the work and tell you when it is ready.
  • Artwork you upload — whatever you send us to print. It is yours; we use it for your job and nothing else.
  • When you pay online — the payment is handled by Stripe or PayPal on their own pages. We never see or store your card details. We are told only that a payment succeeded, for how much, and a reference.
  • When you use the website — our server keeps ordinary access logs, and we use a small number of cookies (below).

Cookies

We use no advertising or analytics cookies, and nothing that follows you to other sites. The cookies this site does set are the ones it cannot work without:

  • a security token, so a form submitted on this site really came from this site;
  • an identifier for artwork you upload, so you can attach it to your own order and nobody else can;
  • a login session, only if you are a member of shop staff signing in to the admin.

Your shopping basket is kept in your own browser’s storage, not on our server, and is never sent to us until you send your order.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or share your details. The only other parties involved are the ones that make the site work: our web host, our email provider for sending you a confirmation, Stripe or PayPal if you pay online, and Cloudflare’s spam check on our forms. Each handles only what it needs to do its part.

How long we keep it

Orders and the artwork attached to them are kept while we may still need them for the job, for reprints, and for the period our accounts require. Artwork uploaded for a basket that is never sent is deleted automatically after two weeks. Ask us and we will delete anything we are not obliged to keep.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email theprintshop@live.co.uk or ring the shop and we will sort it out. If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
